We spent the 4th of July in Montana. And it was awesome.
We spent 2.5 days at the lake and it was gorgeous. We did a fair amount of swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, walking, yard games and relaxing. It was nice a break from “life” and we also escape this crazy hot weather we have been experiencing.
The highlight of the weekend was a baby shower. Since it was just family (and BF Kim) I was expecting some food on the deck… nothing fancy. Of course, my mom and sister exceeded by expectations!
The decor was adorable and the food was delicious! We played a couple games (I was the slowest to diaper a baby and my sister was the fastest… I hope she comes to visit!!) and enjoyed everyone’s company. Kim is due in just a few weeks with her second baby. I can’t believe my belly is going to keep growing to that size! Eeepp!
Before we left on our trip, Jake finished brewing two batches of beer (they were a huge hit!) and we also picked lots of blueberries off of our first producing blueberry bush. Unfortunately, the birds found the trees right after that so any remaining berries were toast. We are going to have to put some bird netting up to keep the pests out so we can continue to reap the harvest from our other bushes.
If you can believe it, Jake and celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary yesterday. Technically, we haven’t celebrated yet, but we plan to in a couple weeks. Time has flown by but at the same time we have done SO. MUCH. in these last couple years.
Here is to many more years of wedded bliss!
